A HA Teko business woman who allegedly engaged hit-men to eliminate her business partner and co-owner of Motheo Mortuary is expected to appear in the Maseru Magistrate’s Court later this month, along with one of the three hired gunmen.

Both Thakane Lerotholi and Maruthi Tsolo briefly appeared before the same court on February 12 for the murder of Tšeliso Manyeli.

The two were remanded in custody.

The late Manyeli and Lerotholi, 46, co-owned the Motheo Mortuary located in Mahlabatheng, Roma.

It is alleged that on June 5, 2020 at around 10pm, Manyeli was shot and killed as he was opening the door to his garage at his St Michael’s home in Roma.

He was fatally wounded in the attack and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Thetsane Private hospital.

Although details into what actually happened are still sketchy, it is however, alleged that relations had soured between the two former partners after Manyeli failed to pay monies he owed to Lerotholi.

It is further alleged that Lerotholi consequently engaged the services of the three hired guns when matters between Manyeli and her worsened.

Both Lerotholi and Tsolo, 29, of Tšakholo, Sekantsing were apprehended by the police following investigations that ensued.

Police are still hunting for the other two hired gunmen who remain at large.
