MASERU - The Senate on Wednesday adjourned business until next week Tuesday to enable members to attend the Thursday’s commemoration of the Commonwealth Day and a workshop on Effective Parliamentary Committees.

The workshop which, will be held at the National Assemble is organised by the British High Commission as well as the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA).

It will look at the opportunities and challenges for committees in the United Kingdom (UK) and Lesotho Parliaments and share experiences.

It is envisaged to include all aspects of the committee inquiries from conception, through committee hearings to reports and media engagement and examine the role of members and clerks, and how these strengthen the committees.
