It is still not clear as to what direction the trial will take after it suffered a lengthy delay due to an application filed by Mothetjoa Metsing and Selibe Mochoboroane who are challenging their joinder in the case.
The two political leaders accuse the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Advocate Hlalefang Motinyane of failing to follow due process when filing the matter against them.
Metsing who is the former Deputy Prime Minister is also the leader of the Lesotho Congress of Democracy (LCD).
Mochoboroane who is the Minister of Development Planning is also the leader of the Movement for Economic Change (MEC).

The accused in the main trial include former army commander, Lieutenant General Tlali Kamoli, Captain Litekanyo Nyakane as well as Lance Corporals Motloheloa Ntsane and Leutsoa Motsieloa.
They are accused of killing Ramahloko during an incident that happened at the police headquarters on August 30, 2014. LeNA
