THE Organ Troika Summit of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) has lauded the Kingdom of Lesotho for its commitment towards full implementation of the national reforms.

This came after the presentation of the country's progress report on the reform process by the Deputy Prime Minister, Mathibeli Mokhothu on Monday evening in Lilongwe, Malawi.
The tabling of the report was preceded by the presentation of yet another report by the SADC facilitator in Lesotho, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on the reforms.
The summit which ends on Wednesday is held under the theme 'Bolstering Productive Capacities in the Face of COVID-19 Pandemic for Inclusive, Sustainable, Economic and Industrial Transformation'.

The Theme seeks to accelerate the implementation of the SADC Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP) 2020-2030, in particular, the Industrialisation and Market Integration pillar.
During this 41st summit, President of Malawi, Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, will take over the chairpersonship of SADC from Filipe Jacinto Nyusi of Mozambique who assumed the leadership of the regional body on August 17, 2020 during the 40th summit.
The summit will among others take stock of progress made in promoting and deepening Regional Integration in line with SADC's aspirations as espoused in the RISDP 2020-2030 and Vision 2050, which envisage a peaceful, inclusive, competitive, middle- to high-income industrialised Region where all citizens enjoy sustainable economic well-being, justice, and freedom.
