LIKUENA forward Tumelo Khutlang is over the moon to be back in the picture at Black Leopards having featured in his third match in a row over the weekend.

The left-footed attacking midfielder was in the starting line-up in the 1-0 win over AmaZulu in the Nedbank Cup match over the weekend.

Khutlang also featured in the two previous games against Baroka and Golden Arrows since making a return to action following a spell on the side-lines caused by an ankle injury suffered in December.

The former Likhopo and Lioli forward has struggled to hold a regular playing place in the Leopards starting 11 since joining the club in 2018.

Khutlang, who has so far earned 31 caps for Likuena has managed 28 games in all competitions and three goals since making the big move to the South African Premiership three-years ago.

“I have played the last three games and it’s been a good feeling to be back playing again,” Khutlang said.

“I had an injury scare after making a return to action, but it was nothing serious, hence I was able to play against Amazulu.

“I’m looking forward to playing more games and helping the club do well in the league and the Nedbank Cup. I’m sure my fitness level will also improve with more game time.”

Khutlang is in the 30-man Likuena squad recently named by head coach Thabo Senong ahead of next month 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against both Sierra Leone and Nigeria.
