Mpho Mabela a personal trainer at a gymnasium in Maseru says yoga is an ancient form of exercise that can reduce stress and relieve muscular tension or pain. Mabela says yoga is one of the best workouts for a person who is exhausted because it teaches one relaxation techniques to reduce stress and risks of injury. He says physical exercise improves the physical condition and fights diseases, adding that medical doctors always encourage staying physically active.
Studies show that exercising is quite effective at reducing fatigue, improving alertness and concentration, and enhancing overall cognitive function. This can be especially helpful when stress has depleted one’s energy or ability to concentrate.
“If one finds it difficult to sleep at night, between the non-stop yawning, heavy eyelids, and some serious brain fog, they must just roll out of bed and do some exercises, that will help a lot,” Mabela says.
He notes that while a good exercise can provide energy, but it is also important to stay hydrated as a lack of enough water causes fatigue.
“Being dehydrated leaves one feeling slugging and slow, therefore it is important to drink water throughout the day because even mild dehydration causes headaches and muscle cramps,” he says. He adds: “Another thing is to remain motivated as lack of motivation also causes tiredness.”
