BAP women’s league condemns killings of women

On behalf of the league, ’Mamotheo 'Molaoa asked the premier to ensure that police are capacitated and provided with adequate resources so that they could efficiently perform their duties.
She was confident that when all necessary resources have been provided, the police would deliver on their mandate as expected and in turn, peace and quiet would also prevail.
The judiciary, Mrs ’Molaoa said also needs to be capacitated so that the wheels of justice could turn accordingly.
“It is worrisome that a lot of women, who were brutally killed, were also raped before their murder and some were killed for ritual purposes. Since the beginning of July, several women were murdered and some of their body parts were never found.”

She said records show that Lesotho is the sixth most murderous country in the world, adding that it is time all known criminals are brought to book.
Mrs ’Molaoa’s concerns come immediately after two Leribe women were reportedly raped and murdered in their respective homes.
