STAFF REPORTER A Valentine’s Day was a bloody one for a mid-aged married couple after a husband shot dead his wife’s alleged lover after he found them making love in a car at a hide out in the field. A 44-year-old public servant from Sekamaneng was awaiting trial on Tuesday where he faced a charge of murder after shooting his alleged wife’s lover. Police reports indicate that the suspect followed up his 36-year-old wife and his alleged 33-year-old lover from Linakaneng but residing at Ha Foso in Maseru. He found them making love in the wife’s car at LEMA on the side of the road towards Mokhethoaneng, Berea. On his arrival at the scene, according to Superintendent Mpiti Mopeli, police spokesperson, the husband broke the car’s window, shot the deceased to death before handing himself over to the police. “Police have confiscated the firearm which was used during the incident, and will be used as evidence before court,” he said. Superintendent Mopeli said the suspect, a civil servant, would appear before court once the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has issued a directive.
