According to a press statement released by the Lesotho Meteorological Services (LMS), the signal is likely to fade away or strengthen as the dates get closer, showing that the forecasted weather condition is expected in the north- eastern highlands of the country.
The statement says unlike in the previous days, mid-day temperatures are expected to drop slightly, however remaining mild in the lowlands while cool to slightly cool in the highlands for most days.
The nation is therefore warned to avoid taking trips into the highlands during the days on which the snowfall is anticipated.
The LMS was created in 1974 as a division within the Department of Hydrology and Meteorological services.

In 1988 when this department was upgraded to the present department of Water Affairs, LMS became a distinct 'Cost Centre' with its own budget but still within the department of Water Affairs.
