TWO business owners, a man and a woman, who breached provisions of the elections law by opening their businesses on elections day were arrested by the Mapholaneng police on Friday.

The entrepreneurs who run a shebeen and a grocery store are residents of Makhoaba in the Malingoaneng constituency, Mokhotlong.

The officer commanding the Mapholaneng police, Senior Inspector Mphelehetse Khatleli said the man who operates the liquor store is also a community councilor.

“The two broke the law by opening their shops during the voting period. The voting time was between 7am and 5pm,” he said.

Khatleli was quick to show that the suspects are expected to appear in court before the end of this week. - LeNA
