HALEMAKALE Mahlaha has registered his first win as Matlama’s head coach, after guiding the Sea-Point-based outfit to a 2-1 victory over the army side, LDF in a mid-week game at the Ratjomose military ground on Tuesday.

Goal scorers, Lazola Jokojokwane and Rethabile Mokokoane ensured that Tse Putsoa received maximum points.
In an interview after the match, Mahlaha said his charges appeared to be responding well to his approach, adding he was mostly working on their mindset.

''The technical team has been working on the players’ mindset for the past three weeks and they seem to be responding well,'' he noted.
He said there were special sessions designed to address the players’ psychology.
However, he added there was still a lot of work to be done as they still had five remaining games before the first-round fixture ends.

The coach is hopeful to win at least win three or four of the matches.

''We would like to close the six-point gap between us and league pacesetters, Bantu who have accumulated a total of 23 points, followed by LCS with 21 points and LDF with 19. We are in position four with 17 points,'' he said.
Mahlaha is confident that although they are going through a rough patch now, but hard work and commitment from all departments will see them through.
Since he took over from Mokoena Moahloli, Mahlaha has been in charge of three matches - losing the first one against Bantu, drawing in the second one with Swallows, and winning the third against LDF.  - LeNA
