TOP local assistant referee, Souru Phatšoane used the weekend Vodacom Premier League match between Linare and Lioli as his final preparation before boarding a plane on Tuesday for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

This Vodacom Premier League encounter ended with the hosts Linare thrashing the visitors.
Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) Media Officer, Mikia Kalati was full of praise for Phatšoane, saying he is destined for better things, as he aspires to raise the national flag high on the global stage.
“He has already done a lot after officiating in major continental finals including the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals and the CAF Champions league,” he said.

Kalati further congratulated Phatšoane, saying he will be the first Mosotho assistant referee to officiate the world cup.

The World Cup kicks off on November 20 - December 18.
Phatšoane said he has been preparing hard for the tournament, adding that an event of that nature requires a physically fit match official.

Africa will be represented at the 2022 edition of the World Cup by Senegal, Ghana, Morocco, Cameroon, and Tunisia. – LeNA
